Inspired by As a priest, Pope John Paul II a priest would say Mass in the Carpathian Mountains when it was illegal under the Soviet Union in Poland… Inspired by this, a Ukrainian Catholic Priest – Father Askold Malchytsky – who has been leading atheist students into the Carpathian Mountains for 10 years will be our guide. Imagine the road to Emmaus, with you and an atheist former Communist student from Ukraine. How will you introduce Christ to him/her? This is an intense spiritual bootcamp/mission trip/pilgrimage to Ukraine! Be ready to trek for 3 days from Sanevir to Slavsk in the Carpathian mountains, with daily Mass, and Bible Study, hiking, camping, and cooking our food along the way!
The next three days will be spent in the Monastery, with young and energetic monks and nuns! Here we will be evangelizing our atheist students and praying with the young monks and nuns.
The next three days will be spent in Lviv, the anchor of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and the holy ground that has the blood of countless martyrs poured out upon it. Here we will be working at an orphanage and spending our extra time praying and exploring the hundreds of beautiful Churches that date back to the 14th Century along with our new Ukrainian student friends!
The final day is the capstone and gift of a pilgrimage to the Rome of the Slavic World. Kyiv the Capital of Ukraine – that was Catholic in 988 A.D. – was devastated by the Soviet Union, but still has Cathedrals that date back to the 11th Century!

“The joy I received from doing the Lord’s work and knowing that what we were doing the whole week pleased him is unrivaled in my life. I thought my heart was on fire with a love and passion for the Lord and desire to share this with others before I went on this trip, but that feeling has exploded beyond my imagination since.”
